...it's been an unusually long time since my last posting. The problem is that first the Pipsqueak came down with a bad cold, and that messed up a lot of timing; then I came down with a cold (probably because the Pipsqueak sneezed in yours truly's face a few times too many), and that messed up my planning; and all along the craziness at the job has maintained an (un)comfortably high level.
All I can do is throw myself upon the mercy of the jury and promise there will be more new postings in the very new future... there are already a couple of unpublished drafts in progress, really there are!
However, right now I'm going to take my sniffly nose back to bed and try to sneak in a couple of hours' worth more of sleep. Hasta luego...
Thoughts & reflections by the proud uncle of a special young lady adopted from China.
Welcome!
My niece joined the family on July 12th, 2010. This special young lady's mother is my younger sister, which in classic Chinese culture makes me her Jiu Jiu (舅舅) -- thus the title of this blog. Here I intend to semi-regularly post reflections, thoughts, stories, and assorted whathaveyous pertaining to our trip to China, adoption in general, and (mostly) watching my niece grow up. Since the web is a very public place, I will attempt to maintain my family's privacy while telling the story... but I invite you to follow the blog and come along for the adventure!
